What is a right angle finder and how we use it?

I found this angle finder on ebay … I found that fits the type of camera you have … I have no idea what they do not really … Can you explain what this odes? Basically, it attaches to the viewfinder eye piece allows you to frame and focus down instead of looking through the eyepiece. It is a very useful piece of equipment that you use a tripod much. If you do not use a tripod much, probably will not have much use for it.
