How to import video from a Japanese NTSC camera (Canon IVIS HV20) to FinalCut Pro 5.1.4? Video in HDV.?

I keep getting the message "No to initialize video deck "in the search and seizure. Ive played with the device control and input capture, trying to convert them to NTSC and versions different HDV, but it seems that I'm missing something. I Play the tape also in the Sony camera I bought in Finland (PAL standard), but I can not import from there to Final Cut well.

FCP5.1.4 of HDV cameras and is known to work with the HV20. Before the capture, be sure to go easy installation and choose "HDV-1080i60 Firewire Basic" for the HV20, or "DV-PAL Firewire Basic" for other camera. With the camera in VCR / playback mode, connect the firewire and then go to Log and Capture. It should detect the camera. If not, then you can have a bad FireWire cable (not all that uncommon), or other problem on your system.
