Hugo Meyer

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1977. Casting agents looking for boys to star in the War of the Buttons "saw Rhys-Meyers in a pool hall in Cork City and persuaded him to audition for a part. Although not finished, he encouraged him to pursue a career in acting. It landed a role in the 1994 movie, A Man of No Importance and in 1996 as the man who killed Michael Collins, on Collins Neil Jordan's. Rhys-Meyers has starred in television series such as 4 Elvis mini series from CBS hours (2005) as Elvis Presley for which he received a Golden Globe. He is currently the star of Showtime cable series The Tudors as King Henry VIII. His films include Velvet Goldmine (1998), Bend it Like Beckham (2002), Woody Allen's Match Point (2005) and Mission Impossible III (2006). Rhys Meyers was chosen as the face of Versace for the collection Men Fall / Winter 2006 and Spring 2007 and is to be the face of the Hugo Boss fragrance for men since 2005. In February 2008 she became an ambassador of the Foundation Esperanza, an Ireland-based charity which seeks to provide shelter and supplies to the street children of Calcutta. Is expected to visit India and record a documentary for charity in an attempt to raise the profile of the charity and thereby increase the awareness of the issue.
