Manual Original

A blogger (www.peterme.com) recently purchased an original Macintosh 128K User Manual from 1984 and published some pictures of her and wrote a great post. He says: "I recently purchased an original Macintosh User Manual (thanks eBay!). I had seen one at a garage sale, and was impressed by the way he had to explain a total paradigm shift in interacting with computers. I thought I could learn something about helping make innovation happen. It was an interesting read. Manual is a very handsome, beautiful typesetting, taking into account par for the course at the time was probably Courier with few illustrations, is saying something. Moreover, even in 1984 there were
no definite article. You get phrases such as "With Macintosh, you're in charge." No "the" s "A" s. One of the most surprising things was how each chapter is introduced with a full color photo of Macintosh being used. (See pictures in www.peterme.com).
Given my own interest in the manuals, their availability and usefulness, I realized two things from the post: First, the old users' manual are scarce and may not be available online to get anywhere if you are not saved. Secondly, there's nowhere you can go and buy a user manual before purchasing a product. When you go when you need to buy Nokia E71 manual or the Samsung i900 Omnia? Where your manuals will be available after the launch of its versions Recent? It makes sense to make available on-line user manual?
