How does the quality of a digital camera 4MEG compare with, say, 12 megs camera in a standard size picture?

If one has a digital camera, 12 megabytes are its necessarily better pictures in a photo standard 4 "x6" photo of a camera than 4 megs? Can 12 meg put more pixels in the picture meg a size 4? I know it's an advantage when larger sizes are made. Please enlighten me on this issue.

You will notice no difference at all in a 4×6 photo. The printer does not print with a resolution high enough to squeeze additional 8MP on paper. You'll only notice a difference if you want large prints or to crop your digital images. In all honesty, for most general use is not needed anything more than 5MP.
