I need help removing Telephoto Nikkor lens from an old Nikon film camera?

I have a 35mm film camera Nikon nikomat, with a target Nikkor 50-300mm zoom lens attached. I got it from an old family friend. (now dead). I think something is stuck inside. Can not see anything when I look through the eyepiece, except the dark (yes, the lens cap is removed). It jams every shot or so. I can not remove the lens. The twists and objective will be released, but can not be removed. I have not been able to use the camera yet. Any ideas? Thanks Answer # 1 – that's what I've been trying. I have an old Nikon RB / lens and that is how I remove it. This not only working

If the mirror may be in the position key, which will make the viewer fainted. To remove this huge lens, you must press the lens release button located at the 3 O'clock position as looking at the camera with the lens mount. Once you press the button, turn the lens and the lens is out. All Nikon SLR and DSLR work in this way from 1959 to present Do not attempt repairs yourself. as the camera gets stuck, you may find that buying a good used Nikon F4 body serve the best … or a new FM10. You can find good deals on craigslist in a city near you. The "new" used camera can cost less than may have to pay to repair the old camera, although it is worth taking in a repair station for the camera and make you watch. A sample of my area use Nikon camera bodies. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/clt/592640820.html
