I have a Panasonic SDR-H18, how can I download my videos and pictures of the video camera to my PC?
I have a Panasonic SDR-H18 Camcorder, I've been trying to upload and / or download my videos and photos to my PC since I bought the camera a year ago! I have read the instructions over and over. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Anyone with this camcorder that has 1st hand experience, please respond.
The Panasonic SDR-H18 is a hard drive based camcorder that records video of its construction-in hard disk files that are basically a modified MPEG2 file type. Take the memory card. When connecting the camcorder with the included USB cable in the box, the camera should be in the same way it would be in when connected to a TV for playback. This should allow the computer to view your camcorder as a USB device and mount only. In Windows, you must go to "My Computer" and all the various drives associated with equipment are listed. Copy the files to a hard drive of the computer. If the camera does not mount, it is because the Windows drivers must be installed correctly. There is a record that comes in the box. Install drivers. If you are using Vista and the drivers are not on that record, go to panasonic.com and see if they have something special for installation in support of the camera. http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-H18 In MacOSX, unity directly. You need to install Streamclip (free) from Apple) in http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html To transfer images, you can try to use the camera – but it's easier to just use a card reader …
