Camcorder Buying U.S. Store online for use in Singapore?

Anyone with experience buying camcorder Store online USA for use in Singapore? I'm thinking about getting the Canon HF100 from BestBuy (due to lower price), but I worry about the ease of use and warranty. NTSC-PAL Interoperability is fine with me.

Since its cash outlay, what happens if the camera did not work and would prefer a replacement. Shipping back at their own costs negate any savings in cash. How camcorder is not a good idea today, many digital cameras are capable of recording film and take still pictures often have more sense and is more convenient.
