Video Kids

The video producers are everywhere.
What once was an exclusive territory driven by hardware, capital and corporate customers already open to anyone with a camcorder and a computer.
I have produced video for 35 years, and I know the "miniaturization" trend which has reduced the ticket price can lead to both please and waste. That new kid on the block video can be a wildcard or a jewel.
So, what if that was the spark, art, and wants for the business?
The equipment is easy, the input can not be.
The world is overloaded with business producing video for the corporate world, and documentary awaiting final thought on Discovery or HBO.
Both the fields are too crowded, with erosion price too much and not enough opportunity.
What the aspiring video producer needs is a niche.
Wedding videos are a niche, but a crowded field.
Well, how about a niche within a niche? I have one:
Tribute Videos.
What are Video tribute?
Tribute videos are documentary-style stories about a person and his life, produced for the family, company, organization or use. Trbute videos the historical mix media (slides, photos, documents, films, videos) and sometimes new media (video interviews) to document the impact of an individual has been in his family, coworkers, or cause.
They are often a personal life story, sometimes the chronicle of a life.
Why is a rewarding niche?
Let's define reward: There are two types in the video business: emotional and monetary.
Tribute videos are full of emotional rewards. First, is the reward of the hearing. Applaud, mourn, laugh, joy, and thanks her profusely. They also often know the history of a person's life better than anyone, and the life lessons learned are also invaluable.
The other is the reward monetary. As a producer of high place, you are more likely to be able to control your financial destiny. Companies pay for what is not readily available, and individuals or families will pay for a producer of high quality that they see as a guru. Being a generic "We can do something" producer is the enemy of a decent revenue stream nowadays.
Tribute videos are the work: about 100 times more work than a talking head video training or a stupid YouTube stunt humans. But the financial and emotional benefits are proportional, if you know your stuff.
Tribute Videos are the production and narration perfect playground stories. To succeed requires great skill of audio and video production, but need storytelling chops too.
Which So the field is still open. The training has not been there … and some people simply do not like working!
That is a shame, because for me, with years of training, products, meetings, fundraising and other business video work behind me, video tribute remains the market segment that meets the rewards always and forever.
Into account. Get a good foundation, and you can be the first – and best – in his stable.
