How good is the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor what kind of shots can you take?
I just bought a Nikon D40 and I'm looking Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor. I go to a lot of NASCAR racing and we want to be able to take some action photos. Is this a good lens for action shots and / or action / shooting distance or do I need something different lens wise. Iwas told the D40 is an excellent option for sports events for those of near and far / action shots with the right lens. just want to make sure before I spend 800.00 on a lens that does not help. Thank you!
Good luck in the search for the lens, since it is indeed popular. I've had mine for almost two years and is now a fine make-it-all lens.
